Sunday's Waterloo Billy Sunday the evangelist who has created such a great stir in many places and who turned Dixon topsy turvey last winter met a waterloo at Macomb The Kewanee Courier says : Billy Sunday the evangelist who is coming here next spring adjourned an afternoon meeting rather abruptly at Macomb where he is now filling an engagement It was owing to the listlessness of the church people whom he had enjoined to make out prayer lists On asking how many had made the lists a pitiful few hands went up he said seven out of a congregation of probably 250 Turning he grabbed his hat and bible and announced the meeting was closed "If you people don't take any more interest than that I'm not going to stand here and preach my life away and use my energy The meeting is closed" It was a startling move to the auditors and they sat quite a bit before they seemed to fully realize that they were dismissed '
